Hi ,i have been given 6 elephant garlic cloves which are in small pots in the greenhouse and showing roots.Shall I treat them the same as my other garlics which are now planted outside,or do they need another approach I tried one last year but it wasn't a very good result.Cheers

When you say "wasn't a very good result", do you mean in terms of the size, or the flavour?

Elephant "garlic" is not true garlic. It has a very mild flavour and is a relative of the leek. The one time I grew them, I treated them as proper garlic. The size was good, but the flavour was lacking. They never made it to my growing list again.

The size and flavour were both lacking ,if the same happens this year I won't bother again but it's a challenge.

You'll never get a lot of flavour, that's the nature of it, but it does appeal to some pallets.
