Title: Elephant Garlic question
Post by: emmalm on July 04, 2007, 19:19
I'm growing this for the first time, but I'm unsure when to dig it up. It did seem to take a while to get going, maybe due to the mild autumn/winter?

I've read that it should be ready in july, but are there any signs I should be looking for that it's ready to pull up? Is it worth giving it a bit longer, or do I just go for it? I've only got the one this year I was given, so don't want to lose it or get very small cloves by pulling too early.

just like enny onion let the green die off then lift and dry if you are lucky you might even get some sun light on them before lifting
