Title: Just taken new 1/4 plot - what to grow at this time of the year and other tips
Post by: BigA on September 02, 2009, 19:29
An exciting week last week - I was finally offered a 1/4 plot after 3 years of waiting ::)

Me and the wife and kids spent last weekend pulling up weeds and tidying the area up.   I'd welcome any recommendations for what to start growing at this time of the year.  I believe we can grow broad beans, onions and garlic late in the year to harvesting next year.

Any other tips would be welcome.  The plot needs digging over and I'm pondering whether it is worth the expense of hiring a rotavator.

congratulations  :D

This (http://www.allotment-garden.org/garden_month/garden-september.php) is the guide for September, there's not a lot to go in now, but you can plan for autumn sown onions and garlic in the next month or two.
