Title: what to plant now?

What can you plant in mid summer? All I've got for winter are leeks, is there anything else I can put in now for winter?

Hi

I have planted some swede seeds starting them off in the greenhouse, packet said July planting so here goes, I am pretty new to this but what about spring cabbage for next year or purple sprouting broccoli.  :unsure:

You'll find winter brassica plants online or in the local garden centre ;)

Not winter, but for the freezer........... I've just sowed more dwarf French beans  :)

It's  little late for Swede,  no harm in trying though,  still time for Turnips though.  Carrots and Beetroot can still be sown.

Thanks will get some more carrots and beetroot in and try some turnips and maybe cabbage

I've just received the monthly email from Seeds of Italy and they say

Quote
What to sow in July-Sep
VEG - Lettuce, Chicory, Radicchio, Swiss Chard, Spinach till October, basil, parsley, rocket, Montebianco fennel, endive, escarole, lambs lettuce till October, Broad beans - peas and Sugar Snaps till november
HERBS - borage, camomile, chervil, rosemary, rue, lemon balm, cress, dandelion, lavender, mint, marjoram, sorrel, sage, thyme.
The big season now is the
BRASSICA season till end of July or Aug so anything from Mizuna, pac choy, savoy cabbage, red cabbage, cavolo nero kale, cabbage, broccoli, cima di rapa broccoli raab, spigariello broccoli, kohl rabi and anything else in this family
