Carrot Fly

I have been advised to grow my carrots in between my onion because the Onion fly and carrot fly do not get on and the Onion fly win hands down.
Do I take this advice? ;)

I'm planning on doing so - have already got my autumn onions in with enough room for carrots between them, I believe it's meant to mask the carrot smell from the carrot root fly... but it will be my first year and I'm sure someone else will come along with a tried and tested verdict

I don't even know if we have a problem with the dreaded fly on our site (it's my 1st year with a plot), I will have to ask my allotment neighbour next time I see him, but I will definitely mesh some if not all to make sure - thank you for the advice, sunshineband, and thanks to Cockney carrot cruncher for asking the question  :D :D  = oh and to DD for the link!

Ask first, your site may not have a problem, but there again, it's better safe than sorry!
