Well the ones I've got in my kitchen haven't come through     as yet the ones in my friend's very sheltered garden however are through and remarkably healthy. Petunias are it has to be said not the easiest of plants at the best of times but they are not normally in the garden until may time! What that says I'm not sure but I would just keep trying if I were you.
I know less today than I did yesterday, and I knew nothing then!

Overcrowding? - May need pricking out.

Once germinated, they need to come out of the propagator otherwise they will grow weak.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I've grown them for many years. I start mine between a piece of damp paper towel (damp, not soggy), pop it into a plastic bag and tie, and park it on the fridge top for a week or 2. By then they've sprouted, I pop them into small sized cell packs, water gently, then mist with a weak Damp Off solution as they're very prone to that. Then weekly water with a diluted feed until hardening off outside.

Well Trillium I've heard of this method before and I think I may have a go with the rest of the seeds this year and see whether it works. This damping off tho' would growing in vermiculite or perlite stop that? :?:
