I'm new to keeping chickens & had mine for about 2 months.
2 of them are laying everyday, but the smallest named "Little One" hasn't laid for 3 days now.
She was laying everyday when i got them (23 weeks old) but she did have the runs. I found stopping her eating grass cured this.
She then, a couple weeks ago was laying every other day, which i inderstand is fine. The last couple days she laid her eggs which were really small (smaller than a Creame Egg) & now nothing. Her eggs have always been small, but not this small.
I've just been to the vet for my partners Guinea Pig & he said that worms could cause this, but obviously there are other things aswell.
I have bought some Flubenvet to give them, as i'm not sure they were done when  got them, & he said he usually advises to worm them twicw a year.

Any advice would be helpful .....Cheers Craig

"Little One" still not laid
Checked to see if could feel any sign of egg stuck near vent & couldn't feel anything.
Think she has the runs again They have had some grass lately.
Will start the Flubenvet this weekend to see if it helps.

Hi Craig 69,  I havent got a lot of ideas just a few more questions.

Have they got access to food, water and grit/oyster shell all the time
Is she off colour in any other way apart from the runs. Is he comb nice and red and does she get a nice bulge on her right hand side in the crop at the end of the day.

I would defiantely worm them. I worm mine twice a year, and definatley worm if they have runny bums.

Someone else with more knowledge will be along soon with some more advice as well.

too much greenery if they are not used to it can give them the runs 
See if treating them with wormer helps but don't stress too much she should settle down (just check she isn't laying anywhere else - they can squeeze into the most unlikely places  ).

Thanks for the replies.
Yes access to plenty of clean water and food.
She's doing the normal chicken things, not looking sorry for herself, crop looks fine.
Just checked them all now and all nice have bulge on the right.
She not laying elsewhere - just seemed weird that her eggs got really small then stopped.
Kept them off greens since yesterday so i'll give it a week to see if runs stop.

If she has the runs will the Flubenvet still work?

should do unless it is severe (i.e. pure liquid), often the runs is just a case of the hen not getting in the proper position to pooh
