Lovely job you made of that shed!  Looks really neat and tidy and sturdy  Even Brian is impressed, and that aint easy as he's a carpenter by trade!!!  Are you going to do external nest boxes, or internal?  Ours are external, so it gives the chooks more room inside the shed.  They are just over 1 foot long, wide and high!  and the roof lifts hinges up for easy egg collecting, except for the shed with my posh nestboxes in, I have to go inside the shed for those ones!

Fantastic job - could not tell it was made from pallets - we have 7 layers and 3 boxes and that seems enough they are quite happy

They reckon up to five hens per nest box, but I'd say with 9 hens, 3 will do, or 4 if you're planning on getting any more chooks!

Our 12 layers shared 3 nest boxes quite successfully until they got their new shed, now they've got 10 nest boxes to choose from!!!!   lol

So been a week or two and the hens are in      they are very happy with there new hen house and are all laying. Mind you all 6 are laying in the same box    the other 4 boxes are just for show at the moment. All 5 boxes look the the same to me, wondering why they stand crossed legged waiting to go into box 2

Right the hen house is up and running, hens, eggs, cockerel all you could ask for. Now for something we can shelter in even maybe make some home brew

Its a good start, but we are in need of a load of pallets to clad it. The black polly sheeting is keeping us dry in the showers, but we can not wait to get it finished. More pics to follow
