We get very insecure when we no longer have anything to fix or drill a hole in.

My OH hates the fact that i've done it i think but needs must!

He's not interrested in DIY and has severe hip, neck and joint problems and at 34 thats really hard on him. . . . . he' very secure in himself tho' and even though i do do alot of the lifting and heavy work i try to do it when he's not around - not only does it dent a blokes ego but its not very attractive or femine - it works both ways!

If I thought my OH could lift a 25kg bag of gravel, I would have been watching her through the window instead of hurting my own shoulder !!  

I think it's great to share tasks as long as we all have a role to play. It's when the jobs gradually get taken away and leave nothing it's a prob.

Must be very hard for some people when their body won't do what it used to.
Mine never has done much so it's less of a shock as old age approaches !

He's very good about it .... i would complain to anyone who'd listen

He should be having both hips replaced soon so i'm praying that will give him a lot of relief.  But he can't wait for me to get an allotment because we wants a comfy chair and his chimnea (SP?) and a can of beer. so he can do his 3 favourite things drink, burn stuff and watch me bend over all day!  :roll:  :shock:  :!:  Needless to say i beat him up with the sofa cushion cheeky begger!

I'd love a chiminea but we've got 2 open fireplaces so I have to take out my neanderthal urges on them.

I hope his hips give him some more mobility. He'll be able to chase you round the lotty then.
