i just boiled mine up whole with onions, carrots leeks, swede and stock, then after about 2 hours, pulled meat of the bones, fell off - delish, in freezer for another day.

also boiled one in stock, then pulled meat off, poured over olive oil and pepper marinade and put in tub in fridge and just pciked at it - now that is a treat - proper tasty

waiting for more rabbit to come my way
just keep breathing................

We just put the rabbit portions, with a variety of root veg in the slow cooker, cover with veg stock and leave it for several hours. Fish out the rabbit when done, meat usually falls off the bones, then serve with yummy crusty bread. Yum! Not done any for a while, need to start visiting the small farm shop which sells rabbit - not easy to get around here!

We have a lot of rabbits with mixamatosis at the moment round here, so reluctant to do it, Yet you can't get better than rabbit stew umm.
I may take my time.....but i'll get there in the end.

Very tasty, and very good for you. But, I have to admit I have a portioned rabbit in the freezer and have been putting off eating  ::) I keep chickens and cull the boys for meat without any problems, but for some reason my two house rabbits make me feel guilty for eating rabbit

Being brought up in the country used to eat rabbit all the time, Bought some Chinese rabbit in Tescos  and the taste was foul put me off rabbit and I've never eaten it again.  Am coming around to having another go with one from  a local butcher as Paul loves it. Now we've got the slow cooker will give it a try.

I like a good rabbit stew but really dislike the smell of the early cooking stages . A good tip from the Shooting Times was to add a spoonful of curry powder to the stew or casserole , it certainly does get rid of the raw rabbit smell.

Try cleaning the carcas with a little vinegar, it's supposed to stop the smell....I've not tried it yet, as haven't had rabbit since i was told the tip
