need to borrow a small person
« on: June 19, 2011, 19:51 »
Home from hospital to find apparently my hens have stopped laying under my sons loving care. I think not they have hidden them some where but where?????

I am slightly incapacitated and cannot furtle under hedges at the moment so if any one has a small person willing to furtle for me i would be greatful lol

out of 15 hens i am having about 4 eggs a day (he let them lay in the kitchen) I am gonna sit glued to the window tomorrow to see if i can see where they are laying. Course it does not help when he also has not cleaned any dogs mess up so dodging that on crutches is a niht mare.

ps i was only joking about the small person but i would love to know where they are hiding their eggs now.

teenagers dont ya love em

I have a small nephew who would LOVE the chance to clamber around under your hedges on an egg-spedition.  He's a lovely-natured almost-three-year-old.  When he reaches his teens I think I will just ignore him for a few years until he grows out of it.   ::)

Hope you get well soon.  :D

Tell your girls you have enough on your plate without them acting like stroppy teenagers, probably caught the bad habbits off your son!!!

We have 6 hens and were getting 6 each day but lately have been getting 4, 5 or 6.  Don't think anything is wrong but they have been affected by the hot weather.

I think a lot of it is the weather!  Hot, dry and uncomfortable one minute, wet cold muddy and uncomfortable the next!

Our girls are laying on and off at the moment too!

Oooh sorry Rachel, pleased you are back home now, and hope you are without crutches very soon!  :)

Branstons, surely children being offered for re-homing should be on the re-cycle bit!

My hens went off laying, then we discovered a pile of eggs under some trimmed branches!
