A two-hour round trip brought us the Faverolles chicks ordered at the start of April.
These are the German or "foncée" strain as opposed to the French or "claire" strain. They're three weeks old and the hens are already getting their distinctive beards; the male has much darker almost black wings, the girls a greyish-brown.
