Just picking up from an older topic. Has anyone managed to use a solar source to pwer one of the nmini-fridges for storing milk or soft drinks in at the plot.

Just a thought could you dig yourself a pit with a secure box in it. I saw monty hall in scotland bury some of his vacuum packed meat to keep it cool.

I suspect that you could use a solar trickle charger and a 12V battery, which would make it easy to use a cigerette lighter socket powered cooler box.  If it's well insulated and you keep the thermal mass of the contents high (ie. keep it full, only add cooled items - don't expect the cool box to cool things, just to keep them cool) then the the cooling demand should be low and will peak only after you open it (which will presumably be during daylight unless you're a vampire allotmenteer!).
