theres so many rules and regulations these days so i would say if you want too then do it . mine eat worms, slugs, snails, beetles ,spider so i cant see a difference between them eating it naturally and us giving it them

I thought the banning of feeding kitchen scraps was just for hens whose eggs were for sale to the public?
I've got a lot more relaxed about what I feed my chx since I've seen them find mice that the cat had killed and devour them in one gulp. They also eaten voles, shrews, frogs, slugs and any other wee creature they can get their beaks on!

maybe a misunderstanding here. the meat i get is fresh not scraps, ie fresh caught rabbits @ pidgeons etc, we joint the rabbits etc the pressure cook the rest for the dog which after taking the bones out there is alot of meat left, so this should be ok for the hens then

As tom said - it's fine to feed it to them and they love it BUT it's illegal.  :)

I feed my birds all my scraps, they are given the following day, I heat whatever it is in the microwave (nice to have a hotmeal) and they have it for breakfast, it could be the fat from lamb, pork chops, spuds, cabbage, carrots, chips, as long as its all mashed up, they eat it all

They picked over my turkey carcase last year (and when we had the other birds, before the fox got em) all that was left was the ribcage and that went into the shredder and the compost heap

I save up all the meat/bacon/sausage/pork/lamb fat, mix it with layers mash, bread, maize, let it set, then leave it for the birds or the hens, it dont last long, whoever gets to it

Anyway, Illegal is a sick bird, should have said, its against the law
