Title: Best mixed coloured and scented sweet peas
Post by: Goosegirl on July 15, 2015, 09:59
For the third year runnning my New Horizon sweet peas, although scented, have produced those small flowers you usually get on the more basic type of sp instead of the large ones shown on the packet. Anyone know of a better variety to try next year?

Thanks AS - and not too expensive too!

I thought they were a very reasonable price too!

I thought the price's where very good as well. Didn't do sweet peas this year, at those prices I will be getting some ready for next year.

Ooooo, a lovely place to spend money.

I planted some sweet peas from packets and some I have saved for years. The scent from the saved seeds were vigorous and beautiful scented but the pretty ones from the packets didn't have much scent and the germination rate wasn't up to much either.

I will try some of their seeds next year.

Don't know why I didn't do them this year as they one of my favourites.

Mine are lovely and pongy, but I bought the RAF packets last year and pretty much the only colour I have is a very strident red...
