Guess what this bit of kit does...
« on: June 28, 2019, 15:10 »
This is a comment to everyone, that the Growster shed has been inhabited for a day or so, to manufacture an entirely new piece of kit for the garden!

The next post will reveal the item in its glorification, and I'm taking bets on who gets to the answer first!

Prepare thyselves, plot-mates; you are soon to see something more interesting than a bent carrot...;0)

Electric drill accessory for stirring tea at 3000rpm?

3-pin "Safety" plug?

I would suspect it was for winding cord but the dowels are a bit short and possibly not strong enough for anything other than cord. You could use it for making your own 3-ply twine or wool.

Alternatively is a 3-in-1 Growstermatic seed dibber?

I reckon it could be something on those lines - either for mixing of various Growster brews to feed the veg - nettle, comfrey ?  I know Mr G is a devotee of both.

Or ... some stirring and mashing device for the making of homemade tinctures, also a hobby in The Turrets.

Please may we have twenty questions?

Mine would be - Does it have to be attached to something else in order for it to function?

I'm guessing that it might serve the same purpose as this tool that I made  ;)

This is my best guess, it presses 3  holes in a small round pot for sowing.

Daniel and News - One observation is interestingly close!

Jay - Er, yes...

Mrs B - Excellent observation, and I was thinking of you when I made it) !Jay's reply above has something to do with it!

Gardener and Rabbit - (Hi again *waves*), Not another crossword clue, and sorry, no...

Mum - Not a dibber. sorry, but I'd never thought of that one!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

You're getting there folks, as Hemlock Shears might say "Watson, once you've eliminated all the evidence which doesn't make sense, then what is left must be the truth"! (Or something like that)...

Clue Number 1 - Jamie Oliver campaigned against them, well their description anyway...

I think it is fairly clear it goes on the end of something like a cordless drill - the double nut on the end of the bolt is a good clue.

That does give it a wide range of rpms so it could vary from a gentle stirrer to a frenzied froth-maker (with associated flying dowels!).

There isn't much it could do in a liquid without wetting the drill so I wonder if it is a mixer for trays of potting mix? A sort of "soil whisk"?

You could use it for making a crude 3-ply twine of sorts. Are you secretly taking up sisal knitting in the shed?

Daniel, you have the principle described well!

What might have three ***** ** * ***? (it could be round, or have four, but in this case, there are three...)!

(Jamie Oliver..)?
