Title: Chicken Digestive Problem
Post by: whiskygalore on August 14, 2007, 20:03
I wonder if someone can throw some light on the problem I have with one of my Black Rocks. Her droppings are light brown sticky and sloppy, also she can pass very dark brown sticky mess, She is feeding and laying well and has loads of energy. I have wormed them in the last couple of months. She has been like this for around 10 weeks. What do you suggest?

She sounds as if she has a digestive infection to me and I would probably resort to antibiotics.

Another member of ours (Muntjac) is very much more experienced in this field and I'll bet he has a good remedy (my guess is dandelion leaves).

I'm sure he'll be around soon.

as sally says try seperating her long enough each day to get her some fresh dandelions .. leaves only . have you fed her anything out of the ordinary .i know folks give thier birds table scraps and personally i disagree with it if birds were meant to eat processed cooked food they would be in the oven alongside the roasties . try this and if you cannot see a change in her stools  then go the garlic powder route  also put cider vinegar in the drinking water .2 caps per pint
