Several years ago, I picked up some reject DMs for a tenner, they are fantastic on the allotment, I always find wellies don't grip your feet properly. and they are a pig to get off when they are caked in mud

I wear on old pair of leather wellies which feel like slippers, a bit of advice if you'r on a plot that has'nt been farmed for a while wear wellies first but make sure they are comfy and in my experience cheap ussualy means just that if you,r gonna wear them alot get a good pair.

I've got a pair of steel toe cap Post Office issue boots - pretty knackered, but very comfy!  When OH gets issued with a new pair, I'll upgrade to his most recent set of cast-offs...  Obviously this only works because we both have size 9 feet  8)

Just what sort of digging are you doing to get boots filled with soil? The mind boggles.

I wear industrial ankle boots with metal toes. Perfect for kicking!

I find wellies cold so if i do wear them then i buy the thermal liners it does help enourmously.

However, i have to admit i'm a clog fan....good old fashioned clogs....comfortable, practical and hard wearing.   Oooo and you can slip them off at the door when you pop in for a cuppa.  :D

Wellies....i thought it was for you too!
