There are serval possible causes.

Are they otherwise healthy?

Mine did the same but after a good drink and a few days of being ignored they have pulled their socks up.

I was going to resort to using something someone said about on here, I would happily tell you what it was but I forgot what it was something number 2

Useless help that was, wasnt it  ::)

Our gardeners association sells a fair amount of Chempak products in boxes - the high nitrogen feeds are popular at this time of the year. They seem to work well for those who use them. Chempak No 4 is the one flying off the shelf for high nitrogen.

Mind some of the older gardeners swear by a dose of Epsom salts for nitrogen deficiency. We sell a fair amount of that too.

A combination of watering and feeding has improved the state of my garlic and some warmer weather would help.

OOOPs - you are right. Knickers in a twist syndrome, it's too late at night and I don't know what I'm on about.

No worries.

If the leaves are uniformly yellow (ie not only between the veins along the leaf) it could be nitrogen deficiency.

Any fertiliser with urea in is high in nitrogen and coud help.

Urea is in urine, yes. It is the waste product formed when we digest protein
