Gooseberry bushes

I planted two new gooseberry bushes end of last year. I went to my Allotment yesterday. They are well alive but haven't grown since I last see them in October I was small bushes. Can anyone help thank you

It was a particularly wet and sometimes very cold winter, so not much grew to be honest.  If they look well and alive and you can see leaves unfurling, I would say don’t worry too much. 

If you want to give them a boost, then a sprinkling of fertiliser will do no harm.  I have just fed all my soft fruit with Growmore  :)
