Television themes...
« on: February 26, 2023, 07:23 »
Goosegirl recently wanted to find the theme to a Poirot TV series, and wishing not to crash her post, I thought it might be nice to pop my favourite theme of all time here...

https://youtu.be/KEt8B3PEo2k

It was the music from a fabulous series shown around thirty years ago called 'Shadow of the Noose', about an impoverished barrister, Sir Edward Marshall Hall, and the moment I heard it, I was just 'transfixed' as I think it's so beautiful!

I'm sure other TV or film themes are loved by chums here, so it would be great to listen to them as well!

Oh That's beautiful Growster. Almost shades of Ava Maria and her voice is superb.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

It's gorgeous, isn't it, Goosey!

I was hooked on it all those years ago, and the series was on at a time when we were just moving into 'The Turrets', so remember it all so well!

She has a beautiful voice, it really does bring up the hair on one's neck - well, mine actually...;0~

That's absolutely fabulous, Aunty!

I've never heard it before, and think it's one of the loveliest tunes I've heard in years!

We never watched the programme so missed all this!

Oh dear, I've seriously aged overnight!  Yesterday You Tube said I couldn't watch as they had no  proof I was 'over 18'.  Today I've watched/listened to them all.  :D

That's priceless!

Just hang on a mo', neither have I! I'm not sending my latest and sadly extinct passport pic as I look like I've got a severe case of depression. Actually, it was actually far better than two my previous ones. One was when I'd grown my hair very long and wore a sort of hippy false fur coat and it looked like I'd been on a drug bender. Another one was when I wore a black leather coat and black rimmed glasses and looked like a Russian spy! Need to renew my passport to go on a trip to Southern Ireland in September this year. I'm told I don't need one but who knows what may happen between now and then.

Already can't resist throwing in my two penn'orth.
Some enjoyable themes already pointed out.

Haunting theme from a series that aired forty years ago in the early eighties

Hamsters!

Marvellous to see you back here again!

That theme will live with me always, as 'Harry's Game' was probably the best series ever shown on TV IMHO!

I used to go to bed with the Irish accents, the fear, the names like Ardoyne, Falls Road etc., swirling around my head all night - the story was just incredible - and I was working for a Scottish company at the time, so was really geographically challenged as well...

I started to read all Gerald Seymour's books after that too!

Thank you for posting this gorgeous music!
