Don't count me as one of the "one or two" please M1ckz. It's a fact that it is a bit warmer here than most places, but with this easterly wind coming, it's still cold.

A method I was shown was to sow in half size seed trays spaced roughly 2" apart. Once they were up, plant out the trays in a row.

You can speed up germination by soaking the peas for a couple of hours in lukewarm water and keeping the seed trays at around 15ºC until seedlings show.

I've got started with absolutely nothing so far. North Wales is a little chilly at the moment, although I tend to retreat the warm room where I can sit and burn logs all day. With peas, would they be ok in a cool, not freezing porch once they've sprouted? I'm pretty sure most things will sprout in the bright window in the living room as it's fairly warm in here all day and the heat from the fire seems to stay until the following morning. The porch is also nice and bright but a lot cooler.

I don't faff about. When it's warmer - end of March/early April - I dig a ditch, throw them in, cover and leave. Can be doing with all this piddling about!
