Leaves too soon
« on: November 16, 2008, 20:23 »
I planted a new apple tree in my garden a couple of weeks ago and since then new leaves have started appearing.  I'm concerned because it's the wrong side of winter isn't it?
Will they be ok when the weather really gets cold, or should I remove them?

Something similar happened a couple of years ago to some of mine - best thing to do is leave them and let nature sort it.  If you try to remove them, most likely you'll damage the tree which can introduce diseases over winter.
Failure is only a temporary change in direction to set you straight for your next success.
Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.

Thanks, I'll just leave them then (excuse the pun).
No doubt people have noticed stranger things than this happening as a result of the mixed up weather we've had the last couple of years.

My pear tree has blossomed three times this year, the latest only recently.
Cheese makes everything better.

Is this the same mother nature?

"Oooh, so Mother Nature needs a favor?! Well maybe she should have thought of that when she was besetting us with droughts and floods and poison monkeys! Nature started the fight for survival, and now she wants to quit because she's losing. Well I say, hard cheese"
