Can I put unprimed beer in the beer keg to mature as I find that if I prime there is too much pressure and it leaks?

You just need some CO2 to protect it.
The normal way is 100g sugar to prime a five gallon barrel.
When you say "It leaks" is that beer? and where from.  What is your priming regime from before?
To be honest, if your beer is still active you can probably put it into the barrel, you just need enough CO2 to get rid of the oxygen.
I hope this is beer and not lager?

This is a catch 22 grinling, if you don't prime your beer you won't have carbonation, so you'll have no Co2 in the keg. Without Co2 in the keg you'll have your brew sat in there without that protection, and the last thing you want is good old air getting at your brew, can you bottle?

As BobE asked what's leaking? beer or Co2?, and where from?. I know a lot of folks use these plastic kegs, I did myself many years ago, but  they only hold about 10 psi I believe.

The top that it came with allows pressure out (rubber sleeve over a hole) but we put the CO2 top on to keep it pressurised & ready for drinking which causes the tap thread to leak unless really tight. When beer is first drawn off that's when it starts dripping through the tap. Maybe prime with less sugar, not 1 tbsp?
Or use the rubber band pressure relief top after priming and fit gas top when want to start drinking?
It is bitter and real ale.

Is it possible to change the plastic tap for a 15mm one, I did on my boiler as the plastic one was a pain in the derriere...
