Hens stopped Laying
« on: June 25, 2010, 21:46 »
Hi all, I've got 4 healthy columbian blacktails. 1 of which is brooding and has been for weeks and weeks, all of the others were very reliable layers until last week. Now none of my beloved girls seem to be laying  :( . Like i said thay all seem to be healthy, i don't think anything has scared them. Can anyone help and give me some ideas on what could be the problem.........

the weather has also disrupted the laying patterns of min, plus the fact that some of mine are laying elsewhere in the hedgerows  ::). Check everywhere to see if you can find any  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.

Hi Sean,
I think the recent Warmer spells of Weather seem to be to blame. I've got three Black Rock Hens now aged about 20 weeks'ish. Annabelle & Henrietta have been regularly laying since 15-17 weeks but Chicken-Licken our third, only starting laying two weeks back. Chicken-Licken only laid three eggs in her first week then nothing till early this week when she produced a 'Whopper'. During this last week, Annabelle & Henrietta went through stages of not laying at all but I can only assume that they were just aclimatising to the warmer/Sunnier conditions as all three are now laying like clockwork.
I'm sure your Hens will start up again shortly so don't worry too much :)
