Title: Old dried herbs for chucks
Post by: rainie on January 04, 2014, 18:47
I was wondering about using old/out of date dried herbs to sprinkle on the shavings in the chucks bedrooms. Or even mixing them up with their mash?
What do you think? Are there any I shouldn't use?

If they come from your kitchen all of them ! EU rules  :)

I have heard rumours of hens that would fight over a bit of sage and onion stuffing but am far to honest and law abiding to advise such a heinous crime. ;)

I reckon sage and onions may scare them  I do not keep chickens so can not give you a sensible answer.

I dont have dried herbs, I did have fresh herbs growing in the garden, the chooks ate alll the mint, the sage dissappeared when they found it, even though it was fenced off, they didnt even look at the onions

Anything I want to keeep has to be fenced or netted off, but thats chooks for you
