I've had a go at growing it this year!  I've had a few bits to snip off - grown in the conservatory... it went to seed very easily!  Decided the best way is the put a couple of seeds in a pot, let it do it's thing and chop it off before it goes to seed!  Seem to need a lot to get not a lot...

As others have said, not sure it's worth the effort though... not the most rewarding of things to grown...

We use quite a lot of coriander, so it is well worth growing here.

When we have a big surplus, we use it as a green vegetable cooked in with chicken in a curry in place of spinach - lush  8)

I grow mine in a heavily shaded raised bed. Up here it's always well watered! Still bolts v easy mind. I even tried the slow-to-bolt variety this year and no difference. One or two picks max before it runs to seed.

How does everyone harvest it? Chop off whole stem or pick individual leaves (when they're not feathers that is!)

The stem, leaves and roots have great flavour, so if you have a lot of it then you can use the whole plant.  When it doesn't bolt, which is a rare occurrence, I just use the stems and leaves as a cut and come again herb. :)

I have coriander growing permanently in a raised be at home.  I just cut what I need about half way down the stems which then regrows and let some go to seed.

It self sows and pops up throughout the year, it even survived the snow! I also sow regularly through the growing season where I have space.

The raised bed is semi shaded for half the day which I think helps, the lettuce and spinach grow well too.
