Hi,  been trying to sow brussels, but nothing, 1st lot been in ground for three months, and i have planted succesionally since but not a thing, not even 1 one germinates. Had trouble too with beetroot, but had great success with many others, is there something i am doing wrong or it the ground just not to its liking.
When the sun shines i dig,
When rain pours i dig
When the wind blows---I SURF.

What kind of soil you on? if it's a clay or silt then it may have formed a hard crust on the surface and although they have germinated they won't be able to push through. You can solve this by filling your seed drill with multi purp compost and sowing into that and covering with a little more compost.
Or you can sow most brassicas in pots or trays and transplant.

I sowed my Brussels in cellular seed trays in my greenhouse to begin with. When big enough I transplanted them to larger pots and eventually, after hardening off, into the ground.
Seem to be doing well so far....fingers crossed.

i always sow the brassicas in pots/trays 1st
cant understand the beetroot they are quite easy to germinate  :? you can start these of in modules if you want to try that but dont let them get to big,as soon as the 1st true leaves appear transplant them to your plot
feed the soil not the plants
