You lot are bloomin' marvellous - except now I have too many options!! I will try your planting dates Digger, as on reflection our ground probably warms up quicker than WG's and I have visions of them all being ready at the same time.
Will bookmark the link so I can refer to it next month when I put my potato order in.

but I though we were "virtually" in the same place

In that case, consider your plot "virtually" dug.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

the biggest spuds this year for me were isle of dura, got them from one of those spud days at a garden centre,I only had 12 seed spuds of these but the return was about 40lb of big spuds, will definitely be getting them again,
as for the earlies well its Ulster Chieftain and Winston
feed the soil not the plants
organicish
you learn gardening by making mistakes

Should that be Isle of Jura?

If so, the 'Taterbase' agrees with your findings about the yield, Shaun.

Isle Of Jura

I may see If I can get hold of some of those. One of our local nurseries sells loads of different varieties. I was a bit late this year and they had sold out of a lot, but there were still over 80 types left!

Ulster Chieftan were good for me also.
