No tannin so can I use tea?
« on: July 07, 2009, 18:25 »
I'm making some apricot wine and the recipe said to use tannin.  The homebrew shop didn't have any and they said to use strong tea but I can't remember how much.  Does anyone know please?
Cheese makes everything better.

Use a couple of tea bags in a mug.
Let it stew and pour in.

Just trying to recall if the kernel from apricots would also add tannin. If I recall that is why some recipes for cherry wine say crack a couple of stones and add.

May get the same result if you crack an apricot kernel but not sure so play it safe and don't. Also it hurts your teeth trying to crack one. :D :D :D :D :D

Thank you SG6.   Now the next question is Earl Grey or Lapsang Souchong?  Ok, I'll stick to PG Tips. :)
