Ailsa Craig, can anyone help? :]
« on: May 21, 2008, 13:26 »
Hallo everyone,

I'm very new to gardening, and have only a few things growing. But one that has puzzled me is this one that a friend from our church gave me. All he told me was that it's a form of onion?

I now know that it's a form of onion - but that's it. I know nothing else about it :tongue2: If anyone has any bit of advice that I need to know, I would much appreciate it! I just don't know if there's any special place to keep them, or any way to treat them :D

He gave me this 'Ailsa Craig' plant, potted. So I've just been watering it for the past few days and it's been fine. I'll take a picture soon and add it for ya'll :)

Thank you very much,

Dan.

Very unusual to get one potted onion.

Ailsa Craig is also a variety of tomato.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Good point DD

1 potted onion is a bit useless - the tomato is more likely

Here is the LINK

It's a large variety, good for size competitions and showing, that might be the reason.

Totally agree.

If you want to grow it to a decent size then you want to put it in at least a 10 litre pot. :D
