I didn't know that you could freeze things in glass jars, Trillium.
I kinda assumed that the glass would shatter?

I freeze a lot of things in glass jars, but you need to make sure they don't fall over (as in stacks) or throw frozen things onto them. You must also not fill them to the brim before freezing. Otherwise, they're dandy for freezing. I freeze nuts, meyer lemon juice, meyer lemon peel, eggs, expensive coffees, maple syrup, etc. One reason I prefer glass jars is that I can clean them well before adding whatever. You can't do that well with used plastic which can also easily puncture.
