Title: Eating chickens ,best flavour? La Fleche,Cornish game?
Post by: Judd on December 18, 2011, 17:25
Hopefully I'll be getting my first chickens in approx 5-6 weeks.
I would like to grow some on for eating and Ive read that La fleche are really tasty.
Are these available?
If not what are your opinions regarding other breeds  like Cornish game.
Any advice would be welcome.

You might find it difficult to get hold of pure La Flèche as they are considered a rare breed, even in France.

La Bresse Gauloise are very good eating, and you should be able to find these more easily.

According to this site La Fleche are flighty and can fly over two meters which might be important depending on your set up!   :D

Thanks for the replies
After looking at some old posts,I think I might go for Marans although I might take a closer look at the Cornish game.
