This morning our hen was fine, we turned our backs, she squawked and now she can't stand? She's only 3? She survived fox attack last week and has laid since, any ideas, there's nothing in her foot and she doesn't mind her leg being touched

How strange. I posted a help for something similar this week for our Esme.

Joyful suggested keeping her warm and away from the others

She is still limping but seems perfectly healthy otherwise.

First time I have had this with one of our chickens.

She kept escaping from the sick bay and seemed miserable away from the others so we put her back today and she is limping around quite happily. She is top of the pecking order so the others are not bothering her.

I don't know if this is of any use but my son reminded me of an episode with his budgie when its leg behaved like this and we rushed it to the vet who didn't know what it was and told us to watch him.

After a week the budgie's leg was back to normal again. Had forgotten the incident so wondering if it will turn out to be something like that.

We are watching and waiting as she doesn't seem in any pain.

Unfortunately she had a broken leg, we took her to vet as she really couldn't walk or stand for long, she had a broken leg, so she's been dispatched.

sorry to hear that, wonder if she had damaged it in the fox attack and has been hiding it.
