Broad and Runner Beans - Storing????

Can anyone give me some advice as to how to store these

At the moment I just Blanche my runners and drop them in a very cold sink full of water and then freeze.

But as for Broads I have no idea

Same for broad beans. Blanche for a couple of mins. cool and freeze

Same here, I haven't bothered with the broad beans.

I saw the thread a couple of posts below this one but it was unspecific about Broad Beans but it does answer the Blanching question Alex

Picked a shed load of Broad Beans at the weekend

Yes I'm bragging :oops:

I dropped them into a large pan of boiling slightly salted water for 2 minutes and then into a bowl of iced water.
The freezing process, I was given a handy tip my a fellow allotmenteers wife on Saturday, put the beans on a baking tray and then into the freezer after 2 hrs they can be put into a freezer bag/container and this way they won't all be stuck together when it comes time to take out what you need.

BBs.. I just stuck some of our straight in the freezer and used them in a risotto at the weekend. The problem was the "skin" became very water and had to be peeled off. If I blance them would it stop that happening?

The first time I "blanched" my BB I waited for the water to start to bubble again before counting my 2 minutes and they were basically cooked meaning the skins fell off but when I literally dropped them in the boiling water for 90 seconds and then into the ice water they were fine with the skin staying on when cooked

they taste better when you take the skin off not so bitter

I do this too and it does work a treat.
