Their run is situated partly under the branches of a HUGE oak tree (so that in the summer they will get loads of shade). Its shedding their leaves nineteen to the dozen, great idea to throw some scratch on top. Thanks for that. Might of known you lot would come up with all these ideas!

I put half a black sack full of leaves In the run in my uncovered area a week ago and it's been brilliant. Every night I come home you won't believe how far they have spread them so they are certainly kept busy. I throw a couple of handfuls of wild bird food I the middle when i go to work. I the morning I sweep them all back into the middle again, takes a few seconds, i even sweep them off the soil and there is no sign of chicken poo so it's helping to keep the run clean
I have another couple of sacks saved for when required
