Post by: Foxy on May 23, 2009, 20:12
Hi can anyone help me with one of my pear trees??? The leaves seem to be blackening at the ends and curling, would really appreciate advice! Thanks! :)

Have a look at  this on Fireblight (http://www.fera.defra.gov.uk/plants/publications/plantHealth/documents/fireblight.pdf) Foxy, a classic symptom is the leaves curling to a give a shepherds crook appearance , hope it's not this  :(

Age doesn't matter to fireblight, foxy. It blows in on the wind. But it's curable if you ever find your tree gets a dose of it. Looks as if someone torched part of it.
