as ever on austerity measures

I do love cooking though when I'm challenged ingredients wise. However, with a lotty and chooks I've got it sussed

Today's dinner is caramelised onion tart with Desiree fat chips.  No roast beef but this cost me pence rather than pounds  :D

Homemade cake for afters

My mother grew up on a peasant farm in Poland and they frequently had potato soup for breakfast.  Then she was sent out into the field to do a full day's work till sun-down! Lunch was often dry bread and a piece of cheese! My mother frequently said it was the pure spring water that kept her going!

We call austerity food  "bread and scrape"

Mind you where I live some folks' idea of austerity food is shopping trolleys full of stuff from Farm Foods and a taxi home

If ever a shop was more inappropriately named       :D
