We have a small orchard of around twenty trees - apples, pears, plums and a morello cherry, we planted them all ourselves over the last twenty odd years.

It has been a case of trial and error.  Two had to go because they were too vigorous, despite  supposedly being on dwarfing rootstocks, and one because we did not like the fruit.  The rest have been in glorious blossom over the last few weeks.

For the past couple of years I have sold fruit at the local farmers' market - just to find it good homes rather than to make a lot of money.

If it is neither use nor ornament I would have it out.

People have been saying that about me for years  :D

I'll have to give some serious thought about replacing it - Trees are a long term investment.
