Title: Nettle root.

I have been at the allotment all day digging. I have found my number one enemy, NETTLE ROOT! My back is killing me. I'm getting the potato bed ready.i've got thee quarters done and i have decided i hate nettles.

Check the PH - nettles seem to thrive on acid soils. I've had far less since I got the PH up. Don't lime where you are going to plant potatoes though.

Nettle Roots .....aaarrrggghhh! got a huge haystack sized pile of them, and I've still got another 14' x 3' x 3' to clear my mound. But I have to admit, it's quite satisfying to loosen a clump off, pull them out and see how far it spreads....a bit like zit popping when you were a teenager.
Anyway, mine are going into TWO compost bins ( pallets still to be collected from Goods Inwards at work ) and I'll intersperse them with straw, and horse muck, all resting on a bed of rose bush cuttings, and covered in a damp wilton.

My goodness, we're getting some posh people on here nowadays.

I suppose one's butler hands one the spade :)

One's butler is far too busy looking after the guests at one's little soiree's....one's gardener passes the spade. He he he !!!
