Supermarket living salad seedlings
« on: April 25, 2021, 09:15 »
I had much luck a few years ago transplanting young lettuce taken from boxes of 'living salads' found in Sainsbury's and Lidl. I haven't seen these however for quite a while now. Has anyone else found a source of these? Not had much luck growing lettuce from seed and transplanting into modules but will persevere! Any tips welcome for pain free lettuce raising!

There was a recent post about seeds needing a chill before they can sprout. In fact, direct-sowing outdoors while the weather is still chilly can work quite well.
