greetings to all, has anyone staked sprout plants if so do they produce any better?just interested because i believe they should be in firm ground.thanks.

I stake mine because I am in a very windy part of the world.
It prevents them rocking and causing a hole to appear which can fill with water and freeze in the winter.
I get good results in light soil.
Sometimes it is better to keep your mouth shut and be suspected of knowing nothing than opening it and proving it.

I think the idea of them preferring firm ground goes hand in hand with them preferring not to get rocked about in the wind. So long as the roots don't get moved by the plants being blown about, the buttons should grow tight, with the f1 seed anyhows. Never had really pleasing results using the older strains regardless of soil or staking.
