Hi - I picked a small box of hazelnuts from the tree bordering my allotment the other week - most were windfalls, so only collected the intact ones!

Any idea how long they'll keep and how to store them?  They were pretty wet to begin with, so have dried them out - I've not had them from the wild before, so have no clue!

We`ve done the same thing,it`s the first time we got in before the squirrils I put ours in a string bag in the larder but I have no idea how long they keep either.

put them in a string /mesh bag and hang in the kitchen where its warm ,if yours are wet take care that they dont go green .if they do  washing up liquid in water will remove it dry well . they will last for a year or more .eaten within a 4 months is best tho aska squirell
