Hi,
  I have planted a number of different squashes this year and have had some interesting results. I planted a yellow petit pan and a yellow courgette but the only yellow things I have got are pictured below.
  Is this due to cross-polination or have I (as usual just mixed up in what I have planted)

This yellow courgette is the same as yours Courgette one ball

Funnily enough, I was on the allotment this evening, having a look round before going home (I'd just finished work), and I went to my mates next door, and they showed me their cougettes which look just like your pic - Sandra calls them Spaceships because they actually look like flying saucers

i am growing them and they are definately courgette 'one ball'

I've got those as well, but mine were a packet of tri colour so I have dark green ones as well as yellow ones no sign of the third colour which last year was a ligheter green one. Gots lots of normal shape long ones as well so ... yes lots of rude positing of courgettes in our house
