I was going to take the 36 young ladies to the greenhouse and replant them into something else, not sure what yet.  But as it is pouring rain and none too pleasant, thats another job to put off until ....     GG are you putting your lobelia etc into the outdoors ?  I could plant the fuschias into their container, but not sure how many to plant in it and also the weather.    Surely we cannot have a frost now.    Mrs Bouquet

Ireland is famous for their slug and snail pest. This year I used Clearslug which has good results. Also I cleared away bushes in the shady part and found tons of them. Put them all in a bucket and put salt on them. It killed them instantly. So far I haven’t got any damage from slugs and snails on my veggies, especially the cabbages. Clearslug is more expensive but very effective.

Rain is too heavy to do anything outside  ::)

Just leave them to do their thing, they aren't babies any longer.  :D

I topped up the potato bags, did the weeding and gave all the green veggies their seaweed feed.

Dear fellow gardeners,

Last year I planted strawberries varieties Elsanta and Max Fruct. As they were first year I hardly had any crop. But I remember someone said to me I had to remove the first flowers appearing. All plants survived the winter well and most show flowers. Do I remove them as well and wait for new flowers to come or can I leave them as they are in their second year?

I would cover them and keep them covered.

No rush to plant them out-mine don't got out until early July!

Can't comment on when to raise the mesh-I just lift it when needed, I don't have the time/flexibility to base it around when it's raining!! I suffered a bit this year but that was my fault for being lax over pegging down the mesh.

Definitely pot them up today! They grow very fast....

Have a nice holiday  :)
