Had a couple of Torbay Palms die last winter, have cut them down and found the insides are made of a lovely, fibrous 'coir' type material.

Has anyone tried composting this stuff?  It looks like it should make a perfect 'brown' layer to mix in with grass cuttings but I'm not sure how long it will take to rot down...

What exotic compost you will have byb    Not sure anyone will have tried composting palms before, but if it is shredded up and mixed with greenery as you suggest, no reason why it should not work
