i'd like to build a little den to sit in when it rains or to get out of the wind hidden in my little woodland. something a bit womblish and girly. i have lots of recycled timber laying a round i'm ok with a saw and drill basic stuff.

Sounds an attractive idea. Just as long as the roof is fairly waterproof, as there is nothing worse than settling in to sit out a heavy shower and getting dripped on.

The roof of our little open fronted 'hut' in the garden is made of overlapping wooden slats (recycled) and is mainly rain resistant. The sides are trellis with plants growing up them .. roses, early honeysuckle and ivy mainly, with Clematis Montana over the roof. Needs keeping under control bit smells lovely.

Just to be different, how about something like a little wooden yurt or teepee?

The simple answer is I have no idea. There are a number of plans and articles online about making yurts - but they are 'real' ones, and quite big. I was thinking more of a kind of  yurt-ish hexagonal den. For the teepee, I thought perhaps a number of uprights, as seen in all the best western movies, but with wood instead of fabric filling in the sides, maybe a bit like larch lap fencing. Since both are roughly circular in shape you get the maximum floor area for a given overall size, and they could look a bit different (in a good way).
