When i see photos of sprouts i see a vertical stem with some foliage on the top and the sprouts clinging to the stem, mine have the stem with sprouts clinging to it but they also have leafs shooting out from all over the stem, are mine a different variety to the ones i see photos of or should i prune mine?? thank you in advance for any advice.

Yours are the way sprouts should look.

Remove the leaves, you remove the plant's food factory. By all means remove any yellowing ones though.

As DD. said - just remove the ones that are dying.

As the advice above, the lower leaves will just die away as the wether turns until they look like the photos
