Just wondering had a cabbage root fly problem in my chinese cabbage managed to get rid of it by digging them all up cleaning them of any maggots and am using nemotodes to keep them at bay.

But they were not to old and now they have been put back in they have staqrted to flower, does this mean they are no loner edible?

Sometimes flowering makes them taste bitter, so taste them...if they are ok eat them as soon as possible, cos they are finished really. The stress of lifting and planting must have made them bolt. There's still plenty of time to sow some more

Who would have thought a tiny maggot could do so much had to did up loads of my things did the same to my bok choi it has bolted as well but still is ok and we are eating it.

I never realised how big chinese cabbage got. I planted about 8 plants in the spring and harvested a couple, the rest bolted this week.  I have a second lot just starting to firm up and I have some more on the go for replacements.
