Thanks for the info FatHen but she seems to have picked up a little.  She's scratching around, eating and drinking so maybe she was just shy - I've been in and out all day chatting to them and giving little titbits etc etc they found a couple of worms and got VERY excited by the whole thing.

They seem really happy now!

2 x daughters
3 x chickens
1 x bunny
6 x african snails  . . . . . and counting.

You're obviously doing something right !!  :)

You'll have to find some more worms. Wait til you let them roam. They'll be writing you 'thank you' cards  :D

I think we may be getting a late egg any minute now. Just checked teh nest box and found a rather startled looking hen in there. Had to shut it quick before she realised it was the door to freedom !

Got a warm one yesterday. It's a lovely thought that they can't get fresher than that. And at no detriment to the hens. They just keep on eating and keep on laying.

I must get that veg plot finished off so I can get sentimental about runner beans. I wish I'd done all this twenty years ago.

i think Auntie was talking nasty internal worms but you meant the sparrow's delicacy !!  :)

The only worry with garden worms is when they fight over one and it starts to stretch. You may want to look away at that point !

My flower girls, rescue chooks of 4 weeks, are the first ones at the gate now and scramble over my feet to get to the fork when I dig for worms, considering they were s**t scared of humans I am pretty pleased for them 8) Bless your girls will be so lovely soon, its the most rewarding thing ever to rescue an animal
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most!!
